Goodfellow Terra

Innovative technology

Goodfellow Terra® Pressure Treated Wood is produced with revolutionary MicroPro® preservative technology, a waterborne, micronized copper azole system developed to provide long-term protection for wood exposed in exterior applications. The MicroPro system is based on the well-established effectiveness of copper combined with an azole compound and is applied to wood by pressure treatment.

MicroPro preservative technology is a Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approved wood preservative that has been formulated especially for Canadian species and use conditions. Wood treated with MicroPro can be used above ground, in ground contact and in fresh water.

Unlike Alkaline Copper Quaternary compounds (ACQ), MicroPro preservative technology does not use an organic solvent to solubilize copper. Instead, the copper compound is micronized or physically ground into submicron copper particles small enough to remain suspended in solution for pressure treating without the need for a solvent. This reduces the corrosive properties of treated and improves its environmental benefits.
